With the latest title in the Atelier series “Atelier Meruru: Alchemist of Arland 3” being released in Japan last month, I have been curious to what they would be releasing next, as over the last few years there seems to have been a consistent stream of development for Atelier games. This is…. not what I was expecting. Atelier Elkrone: Dear for Otomate is a collaboration between GUST and Idea Factory to make a more female oriented game featuring both a dating simulation (Otomate) alongside the Alchemy system (Atelier).
So far not much has been released on the game, with the information coming from the holding screen for the official website (Pictured above) and information from Dengeki Playstation. This game will follow the protagonist female Merieru who has the choice out of the six guys pictured above (Must…. resist…. picking…. stereotypes…. so…. early…. on….) and no doubt have the happy ending that the genre is famous for. There is an alchemy element however as to what it is for has yet to be mentioned – I suppose running errands and doing the normal Atelier-style battles would be fun. However I am curious to if alchemy will be used to increase a relationship with the guy of your choice….. say through a Love Potion or I don’t know…. Omega Powered Viagra or something.
The game is due out on the Playstation Portable in January 2012 and is expected to come with both a standard edition and a limited edition.
