With tickets “flying out the door since sales began last Friday”, the producers behind the 2023-2024 Australian tour of Wicked have confirmed that – with the first weeks of performances almost selling out within the first four days of general public sales – two additional weeks are now on-sale starting today. Tickets are now on-sale for dates up to and including 20 October 2024, with first performances starting 12 September 2024. Ticketing information for the ongoing Melbourne season and the upcoming Brisbane season in question, can be found via the show’s official website.
Commenting on the demand, Wicked Australia’s co-producer John Frost excitedly shared:
I’m overjoyed with the huge demand in Brisbane for this spectacular production of WICKED. The new Australian cast is exceptional and has been enthusiastically embraced by WICKED fans in Sydney and Melbourne. If you have never seen WICKED, come and see it for the first time and be spellbound. If you have seen it before, I know you’ll want to come back and be enthralled all over again.
Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other young women meet in the land of Oz. One born with emerald-green skin is smart, fiery, misunderstood and possessing an extraordinary talent. The other is bubbly, blonde, ambitious and exceptionally popular. They become rivals, then friends…until the world decides to call one “good” and the other one “wicked.”
The 2024 cast of WICKED is headlined by Queenslander Courtney Monsma as Glinda and Sheridan Adams as Elphaba, the roles which will see them take on the iconic roles of Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. They will be joined on-stage by a diverse lead cast including Robyn Nevin as Madame Morrible, Todd McKenney as Wizard, Liam Head as Fiyero, Adam Murphy as Dr Dillamond, Shewit Belay as Nessarose, Kurtis Papadinis as Boq, and Zoe Coppinger as the Elphaba Standby.
