With the winter school holidays now a distant memory, perhaps we should look forward to the extended summer school holidays in December and January. Pitched as combining “spectacular magic, breathtaking illusions, stunning stagecraft and cutting-edge technology”, it was this morning announced that the new theatrical production titled Metaverse of Magic will be touring across Australia in November 2023. The tour is set to commence at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre starting 7 November 2023, followed by the Canberra Theatre Centre starting 22 November 2023 and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Concert Hall from 4 January 2024.
The production will feature a cast of renowned magicians from Japan, Taiwan, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, among others. Additionally, online magic influencer Ash Hodgkinson, known as Ash Magic, will also be part of the show as the character Lennox. Other featured magicians include Charli Ashby, Hara Hiroki, Horret Wu, Jarred Fell and Sabine van Dieman.

Discussions are ongoing, but we are delighted to reveal that after the Australian tour, Metaverse of Magic will be touring internationally including London’s West End, North America, the Middle East and Asia
In a unique twist on audience interaction, attendees will be able to participate in the performance using their personal smart devices. Alongside i-Gen magician Lennox and the Game Master DIGI, the audience will venture on an exciting quest to unveil the secrets of the four masters of illusion and strive to gain access to the elusive Inner Realm. This interactive experience allows spectators to level up, accumulate points and rewards, and finally unlock the mysteries of magic throughout the ages.

Ash Hodgkinson, also known as Ash Magic, a magician, actor, and entertainer with a following of 10 million on TikTok and nearly 2.9 million on YouTube, is set to join the production. Hodgkinson, whose videos have been viewed over three billion times, starred as Henry Harrod in the 2021 Australian drama series RFDS and appeared in Heartbreak High as Ben in 2022.
Metaverse of Magic also features a diverse array of world-renowned magicians and large-scale illusionists, including Hara Hiroki from Tokyo, Horret Wu from Taiwan, Jarred Fell from New Zealand, Charli Ashby from Australia, and Sabine van Diemen from The Netherlands.
On the creative side of the production, Metaverse of MAgic features Suzanne Jones as Producer and Co-Creator, Siobhan Ginty as Director and Co-Creator, Del Wynegar as Associate Director and Co-Creator, and additional script work by Eddie Perfect, the Australian musical theatre powerhouse acclaimed for his work on the music and lyrics of Beetlejuice the Musical.
