Joining a number of other internationally acclaimed artists heading down under in the coming months, it has been announced that the classical group IL DIVO is slated to return to Australia for performances in four cities across October and November 2023. This tour is being arranged by TEG Dainty, who outside of their major musical theatre works, brings many artists to the country each year.
This tour will be the group’s first in the country following the unfortunate demise of member Carlos Marín in 2021. Remaining members of IL DIVO, including Swiss tenor Urs Bühler, French pop artist Sébastien Izambard, and American tenor David Miller, have expressed their determination to carry forward the group’s legacy, and also pitch this as a ‘The Show Must Go On’ tribute to Martin. In January 2022, the trio introduced guest vocalist Steven LaBrie, a Mexican-American baritone, who has been touring with them since then.

The group has also extended an invitation for Neapolitan singer, Patrizio Buanne, to join them on their tour.
The tour is set to kick off in Sydney on Tuesday, October 31, then it will proceed to Brisbane, Melbourne, and finally wrap up in Adelaide. Here are the tour dates and venues:
- Tuesday, 31 October 2023: Sydney, Aware Super Theatre
- Thursday, 2 November 2023: Brisbane, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre
- Saturday, 4 November 2023: Melbourne, Plenary
- Monday, 6 November 2023: Adelaide, Adelaide Entertainment Centre
A pre-sale opportunity is available to Telstra Plus members from 9 am on Wednesday, July 12 until 9 am on Friday, July 14, local time. Tickets will be available for the general public from 10 am on Monday, July 17, via Ticketek. More details about ticketing can be found via the TEG Dainty website.
IL DIVO has shared their enthusiasm about returning to Australia, issuing the following statement alongside the tour announcement:
We haven’t been to Australia in some time and are excited to come back to perform for our Aussie fans. Australia has always been a big supporter of Il Divo, and after all the tragedy of the last three years, we are beyond elated to return
Paul Dainty AO, President and CEO of TEG Dainty, expressed his anticipation for the tour, sharing:
IL DIVO, the most commercially successful, classical crossover group in international music history, are all set to entertain Australian audiences at the end of this year. Carlos Marín’s talent was immense and the whole world mourned his passing, but IL DIVO made a commitment to keep his memory alive by continuing to share the gift of their combined vocal ability with the world. And let’s not forget they’re also bringing ‘The Ambassador of Dolce Vita’, PATRIZIO BUANNE, along! This is one for the whole family.
