From this Saturday, Arts Centre Melbourne was due to commence its first stage of reopening following the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic. For those able to travel to the Centre over the coming weeks, especially during the school holiday period, a program of enticing events and opportunities for those of all ages was planned. Unfortunately, this has had to be postponed, with the Arts Centre Melbourne team just confirming that their performances and events will be put on hold for a while longer.

Citing “recent changes to public health restrictions in Victoria“, virtually all events planned to go ahead from Saturday have been cancelled. Those who had purchased tickets to events will be contacted by email when new dates for reopening have been confirmed and issued with new tickets for the rescheduled dates. Those unable to attend the new session are eligible for a full refund.

In the interim, Arts Centre Melbourne will continue their line-up of free digital offerings, including their Together with You online hub and the weekly entertainment show Big Night In with John Foreman.

We have a great program of events and performances for visitors when restrictions are eased again and we’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors and audiences as soon as we are able to do so. Every decision made is based on making sure the health and safety of visitors, artists and Arts Centre Melbourne team is the priority.

We are continuing to provide the best of the performing arts to audiences at home through our Together With You online hub, including our weekly entertainment show Big Night In with John Foreman.

Arts Centre Melbourne’s ghost lights, following the long-standing theatre tradition of lighting up unoccupied stages, will continue to energise and illuminate our stages while we can’t be there.
