Although acclaimed Australian singer Delta Goodrem is not a new addition to the newest Aussie cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS, she was only set to perform during the Sydney, Hobart and Melbourne legs of the show. From Brisbane onwards, she was set to be replaced by someone else. The plan has now changed, with it today being confirmed that Delta Goodrem will be continuing her role as Grizabella during the show’s Brisbane run at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC) Lyric Theatre starting January 29 2016. Ms Goodrem will sing Memory, one of the show’s most well-known song.

Delta Goodrem has said:

I am so excited to be making my musical theatre debut in Brisbane as Grizabella in CATS, one of the most iconic roles created by Andrew Lloyd Webber.  Andrew Lloyd Webber’s work is extraordinary and his music speaks to people all around the world.  I am so honoured to have the opportunity to share Andrew’s music and Grizabella with a whole new generation of Australian audiences and to join the CATS’ legacy.

The Australian tour of Cats is being presented by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, David Atkins Enterprises and BASE Entertainment Asia in association with The Really Useful Group. Tickets for the Brisbane leg start at $74.90, with price dependant on session choice, seating preference and concession status.
