Citing “overwhelming demand”, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre and shake & stir theatre co have announced that their season of Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine has been extended for an extra week. Running in the Cremorne Theatre, the live show will now run from January 6th to 23rd 2016 as part of the venue’s Summer holidays series of shows.
Tickets to this show are now available for purchase via the official QPAC website. Tickets are available at a flat price of $34.90 irrespective of session or seating choice. Groups of 4+ can take advantage of a slightly discounted price of $29.90 however.
What starts as just another boring day for George quickly turns into a marvellous experiment of gigantic proportions! On a good day, George can’t stand his Grandma. She complains all the time, she’s mean and she smells funny. On this particular day, Grandma is much more annoying than usual and George has had enough.
Wanting to teach her a lesson and to put an end to her constant nagging, George concocts a special medicine, greater than any medicine in the history of medicines. What he doesn’t expect is that this medicine may actually work; just not in the way he thinks it will.
