Faced with the challenging task of surpassing their 2014 season of Jesus Christ Superstar, The Arts Centre Gold Coast have opted to make their major musical event for 2015 Miss Saigon – the renown musical from Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg (Les Misérables). With pre-show rehearsals coming to an end, Miss Saigon is set to enjoy its official opening night at The Arts Centre Gold Coast’s Arts Theatre starting 7:30PM on Friday June 12th 2015 (Aka. Tomorrow).

This season is set to be held from June 12th to 20th, with at least one session being held every day Thursday-Sunday during this period. There are a number of nighttime and matinee sessions being held as well, to suit either time preference. However, regardless of what session you are attending, all are invited to arrive earlier to take full advantage of the Saigon Marketplace. The venue is set to be “alive with music”, and everyone is invited to “enjoy a bite to eat from one of the themed food stalls, and enjoy a drink at the Terrace Bar prior to the show”.

Tickets for any session will set adults back $57.00, with concession and student/child tickets available at a discounted rate. More information on seating availability, the show, and pricing can be found HERE. Those interested in directing musicals or are fascinated how they are run can also take advantage of a ‘Musical Directing Masterclass’ with Musical Director David Piper between 4.00PM and 6.00PM on 17 June. Tickets to this session are $55.00, while access to both workshop and a seat for Miss Saigon will set you back $100.00.

Miss Saigon tells the tragic tale of young bar girl Kim, orphaned by war, who falls in love with an American GI named Chris. However, their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon. This classic story, inspired by a single photograph, has been performed for 25 years now in over 300 cities and 15 different languages worldwide.
