If a picture is worth 1000 words – what about a song? Can a picture inspire a song… or fifteen?

Between their major performances of The Pirates of Penzance and Into the Woods, the cast and crew at Harvest Rain Theatre Company have been hosting an Incubator Season at their Hayward Street Studios. To be run until June 7th, this season has seen three very different shows (Connect Four, Xanadu and 35MM) each performed in short (approximately) week-long chunks since late-April 2015. All three shows have been presented by independent local artists in conjunction with Harvest Rain, with an overall goal of “developing new work, emerging talent and daring theatrical experiences”. The event is being curated by Catarina Hebbard.
While this is a bit late given there are only a few more sessions remaining, the Harvest Rain Incubator Season is set to conclude with 35MM: A Musical Exhibition. This new multimedia musical has been written by Ryan Scott Oliver, with photographs by Matthew Murphy, direction by Cienda McNamara and a cast of local performers.
The three remaining sessions are set to be held from 6:30PM and 8:30PM this evening (Saturday June 6th), with one final session to follow at 5:00PM on Sunday. Tickets are available at a flat price of $25.00, and are all being presented in multiple spaces within the Hayward Street Studios.
