Cirque du Soleil’s TOTEM to Begin in Brisbane from April 2015

-

Starting with its humble roots as a group of 20 street performers in 1984, the Cirque du Soleil continues to impress patrons at their performances around the world. The Quebec-based performing group is set to once again begin a new set of performances in Australia with their new production dubbed “TOTEM”. Under their signature blue-and-yellow big top, TOTEM is set to run at Northshore Hamilton, Macarthur Avenue, Brisbane starting April 10th 2015.

Written and directed by Robert Lepage, and featuring 46 acrobats, actors, musicians and singers from Cirque du Soleil, TOTEM sets out to trace a journey from its original amphibian state to its ultimate desire to fly – which they have described as a “fascinating journey into the evolution of mankind”.

This is not the only leg in TOTEM’s Australian tour, with it currently playing in Melbourne. Subsequent performances are also due to be held in Adelaide (Starting June 11th) and Perth (Starting July 31st). Tickets for the Brisbane leg and sessions in other states can be purchased via the official Cirque du Soleil website.
