VShojo surprised audiences at Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles by introducing NOVA, a four-member VTuber group that also marks the agency’s first all-Japanese lineup. The reveal took place on stage at the convention and served as the launchpad for both a new music label, UNIVOLT, and NOVA’s debut track, “Starry Connection.”
NOVA’s roster features Akatsuki Hotaru, Hestia Happiness, Okamoto Nagi and Yutori Peke – who are characters who journey through a post-apocalyptic parallel universe in their shared lore. The quartet first appeared on YouTube and Twitch in November 2024 and quickly drew attention as part of VShojo’s broader expansion into the Japanese market.
UNIVOLT, formed in collaboration with Universal Music, will handle NOVA’s recordings. “Starry Connection” showcases a bright hyper-pop sound from producer Tokyo Manaka, with lyrics by Rap Star contestant utumiyqcom that weave each member’s name into the chorus. Animation house Toei Zukun Laboratory created the music video, which aims to bring NOVA’s ruined-yet-dreamy setting to life.
