Manga Mavericks Books has confirmed that manga creator Sen will attend Anime NYC 2026, marking her first convention appearance in the United States. Sen is the creator of the fantasy adventure manga Horon of the Closed Country, which Manga Mavericks Books publishes for the English language market. Manga Mavericks Books CEO Varun Gupta said Sen’s appearance gives the publisher an opportunity to connect one of its creators directly with readers outside Japan, following the English release of the manga’s first volume.
We are very excited to welcome a talented manga creator Sen for her first convention appearance in America. Sen’s work has captivated readers within the doujinshi and indie manga scenes in Japan, and we have seen that love spread into the English market with the release of Volume 1 of HORON OF THE CLOSED COUNTRY. We hope this will be the first of many opportunities to bring the manga creators we publish closer to overseas readers.
