Strawberry Marshmallow (Ichigo Mashimaro) – Volume 3

-

strawberry3

The third volume of Strawberry Marshmallow is the last volume of the series which I currently own, however, I will look out for it on my next book hunt.  This was the volume that made me interested in the manga series, as it is the only one my library stocked, and to date, it still remains my favourite! Read more after the jump

Artwork: What can I say? 100% Kawaii 100% of the time. The quality has definitely not degraded from the previous volume. Simple as that.

Characters: There were no new characters added into this volume which is slighty disappointing however, each of the characters retains their humerous traits between each other, such as Miu’s one sided jealousy towards Ana and Matsuri and a look into their odd dreams.

Storyline: I really do hate saying this every time but there is no storyline to this series. However, each of the chapters definately have some funny storylines that can keep you laughing time and time again. Some examples of this are:

  • Miu’s retelling of Cinderella, altering the story so the parts her friends have played in her mind usually end up with a not so happy ending.
  • Miu destroying the Ito household being a ninja
  • The creation of a play called “Memories of Recollections” which cannot be understood by anyone.

There are 10 chapters in this volume, so there are 10 different mini-stories for everyone to enjoy! I think this is the best compilation of stories yet!

Extras:

  • “Cute Girls are back in Town” Character Guide
  • Random bits of art throughout the volume (For example, Main Title, Chapter List, Chapter Introduction Page)
  • Strawberry Sports Pages between chapters which features one of the 5 main girls in sporting outfits from Golf to Swimming to a humerous one of Archery.
  • Next Volume Page
  • Advertisments
  • Once again, did I mention the Kawaii artwork?

Overall Rating:

Artwork: 5/5
Characters: 4.5/5
Storyline:
5/5
Extras:
4.5/5
Personal Preference: 4/5
Overall:
4.6 (A)

Another great volume, what more can I say?
