Crunchyroll used its San Diego Comic-Con panel to unveil Crunchyroll Anime Nights, a monthly theatrical program that will put feature films, curated TV episodes, anniversaries, and advance previews on cinema screens every third Monday.
The initiative begins this October and will run in more than 225 venues operated by Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, AMC Theatres, Regal, Cinemark Theatres, Harkins Theatres, and Landmark Cinemas.
The initial slate covers three dates:
- October 20 – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved
Kanna’s father Kamun Kamui demands her return to the Dragon World as conflict brews between the Chaos and Harmony factions. While Miss Kobayashi tries to keep her adopted family together, Iruru discovers another force aggravating the dispute. - November 17 – Overlord 10th Anniversary Event
The first seven episodes of Overlord Season 1 screen together to mark a decade of the dark fantasy series that follows salaryman-turned-Sorcerer King Momonga after his favourite MMORPG becomes reality. - December 15 – Secret Sneak Peek
Audiences will receive an exclusive first look at upcoming anime series that will stream on Crunchyroll at a later date. Specific titles have not been disclosed.
