Pony Canyon has today shared a new trailer for Tohai – Ura Rate Mahjong Tohai Roku, which is set to commence straight into its second season starting 11 January 2025. You can view the full trailer below:
The season will continue the story of Kei, a high schooler known as K of Ice, who navigates the treacherous underground world of Mahjong. This dark narrative sets out to explore themes of money, power, and survival, with Kei facing numerous hardships as he struggles to endure. The second season is directed by Jun Hatori, with music by Yusuke Shirato and Yuki Kishida. Animation production is being handled by EAST FISH STUDIO.
In addition to the trailer, it has been revealed that the second season’s ending theme song will be performed by Enako and Kayoko Kusano, and is titled Tumbling Dice. Statements from both artists can be found below, around their contributing a song to the anime:
I can’t believe the day has come when I get to sing with Kusano-san, who has provided music for me in the past! I am truly happy! On the day of the recording, Kusano-san directed me, and thanks to her encouragement and friendly nature, it was such a fun experience. I’m really looking forward to seeing how Tumbling Dice will come together with the animation for the ending!

This song was created to capture Amina’s journey in Tohai, where she constantly faces life-threatening situations, calls upon miracles, and overcomes the impossible. It reflects her spirit, belief, and the transformation of her heart as she meets new friends.
Kayoko Kusano
Life can sometimes feel like a gamble, where you choose when to make your move and seize victory. This song is a duet with the strong and inspiring Enako, and we hope you enjoy our harmony alongside the work itself.
