The occult action anime Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube, which first received an anime adaptation in 1996, is set to return during Japan’s summer 2025 anime season with an all-new adaptation produced by Studio KAI. Based on the manga by Shou Makura and Takeshi Okano, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1993 to 1999, this series is a celebrated classic in Japan, which blends supernatural storytelling with heartfelt themes. To commemorate this announcement, a key visual has also been shared. A promotional trailer, viewable below, also reveals that Japanese voice actor Ryotaro Okiayu will perform as the voice of protagonist Meisuke Nueno, also known as “Nube”.
Ryotaro Okiayu, known for his roles in The Prince of Tennis and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, will portray Nube, a cheerful and caring teacher with a hidden power: a demon-possessed left hand. Charged with protecting his students from ghosts, spirits, and unexplained phenomena, Nube balances his role as a mentor with the responsibilities of a psychic warrior.
To celebrate the announcement, It’s Anime powered by REMOW. is hosting a shikishi board giveaway signed by Ryotaro Okiayu. This campaign is open to fans outside Japan and will be conducted through the official X account, @ItsAnimeJP. Additionally, a voice actor contest in Japan will allow one child winner to appear in the anime as a student from Domori Elementary School, which is kind of a cool competition.
After receiving the passionate message, “We want you to protect the kids of Class 5-3 once more!” from Makura-sensei and Okano-sensei, the demon’s power returned to my left hand!
