Japanese manga This Monster Wants to Eat Me (私を喰べたい、ひとでなし), written and illustrated by Sai Naekawa, is set to be adapted into an anime series in 2025. This announcement, made by Pony Canyon this evening, was complemented by a teaser visual (to the left), an illustration and message by Naekawa (see below), and a teaser trailer (see further below).
This Monster Wants to Eat Me follows Hinako, a high school girl living by the sea, who possesses a body that is irresistibly appealing to nearby monsters. Her life takes a strange turn when Shiori, a mermaid, emerges from the ocean with the intention of protecting Hinako until she can eventually devour her. Amid this chilling premise, Hinako begins to wonder if Shiori might also be able to fulfill her deepest wish.

It has been confirmed that the protagonist, Hinako Yaotose, will be voiced by Reina Ueda. The anime adaptation is being directed by Naoyuki Kazuya (Chief Director) and Yusuke Suzuki (Director), with series composition by Mitsutaka Hirota, character design by Nozomi Ikuyama, music composition by Keiji Inai and animation by STUDIO LINGS.
More information is set to follow in the near future, including an exact release date, further voice cast and more.
