To mark the 45th anniversary of Space Runaway Ideon, a reproduction of the Blu-ray box set is set to be released on December 18, 2024. Directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino in 1980, following his work on Mobile Suit Gundam, the series became notable for its content and has maintained a lasting influence in anime history. The original Blu-ray box set was released in 2013 marking a more than decade gap between major blu-ray box set releases
This new release includes all 39 episodes of the series, along with bonus features such as creditless versions of the opening and ending sequences and TV commercials. The set will also feature updated artwork from character designer Tomonori Kogawa and mechanical designer Yuichi Higuchi.
