Mamoru Hosoda's Film 'Mirai' Streams on AnimeLab for Limited Time 1

Have a free evening planned this week and feel like watching a film? In the latest film addition to their AnimeLab video-on-demand service, Australian publisher Madman Entertainment has confirmed the availability of Mamoru Hosoda’s latest film – Mirai – to stream for a limited time. Only available to premium subscribers, the full one and a half hour film can be enjoyed with either the original Japanese audio or newer English dub until the end of July 2020. You can begin watching the film HERE.

Mirai follows the four-year-old Kun, whose world is turned upside down when he becomes a big brother to his newborn baby sister. Named Mirai (meaning “future”), the baby quickly wins the hearts of Kun’s entire family. As his mother returns to work, and his father struggles to run the household, Kun becomes increasingly jealous of baby Mirai… until one day he storms off into the garden, where he encounters strange guests from the past and future – including his sister, Mirai, as a teenager. Together, Kun and teenage Mirai embark on a journey through time and space, uncovering their family’s incredible story. But the question is… why did Mirai come from the future?

Mirai is one of several films from director Mamoru Hosoda and the team at Studio Chizu currently available on AnimeLab. Other films available to watch now include Summer Wars, The Boy and the Beast and Wolf Children. Alternatively, you can purchase individual DVD/Blu-ray collections of each film via your local anime retailer.

AnimeLab is an online anime streaming service managed by Madman Entertainment. It’s accessible only to those residing in Australia and New Zealand and offers a basic service free with video quality, dub and availability timeframe limitations. For those looking for access to no simulcast delays, no ads, full back-catalogue access and high definition video can take advantage of a premium subscription membership for $7.95AUD/month or $79.50AUD/year.
