Dragon Quest X Crossover Event Returns to Final Fantasy XIV

With COVID-19 pushing the next major patch for Final Fantasy XIV Online back a few months at least, there has been less fresh content available for long-time players who may have completed all Savage content and are waiting for something new to challenge them or grind through. Dragging back some of the newer, long-time players back into the game for something more than to catch up with friends or ensuring their mansion doesn’t go kaput – Square Enix has been bringing back a few of their crossover events with other games.

After returning The Maiden’s Rhapsody event last month, the next up will be ‘Breaking Brick Mountains’. First held in January – February 2014; this is a crossover event with the (still) Japan exclusive online game Dragon Quest X for the PlayStation 4, PC, Wii U and Nintendo Switch. It is due to go live across all servers on 2 July 2020, and will conclude on 27 July 2020.

Available only to those who didn’t complete the quest the first time around, this quest features the original narrative, questline and Golden Brick FATES. By undertaking the quests and FATEs, you will be eligible to acquire the ‘Thug’s Mug’ headpiece, ‘King Slime Crown’ headpiece and ‘Wind-up Brickman’ Minion. Neither glam is one you will probably use day-to-day, but it means you are always prepared for when you want a slime on your head.
