Many have played battle royale video games before, but what would it be like to be a part of one? Adapted from the original manga by FLIPFLOP, Aniplex of America have confirmed they hold the rights to the TV anime Darwin’s Game, due to begin airing in Japan next month. The show follows Kaname Sudo, an ordinary high school student who has been entwined in a high-stakes, life-or-death battle after receiving an invitation to download a mobile app called “Darwin’s Game.”. Upon launching the app, he is drawn into the game where players fight one another using superpowers called Sigils. In order to survive, Kaname might fight against the other powerful players whom attack him.
Original creator and one half of FLIPFLOPs, Hide Fukuyama, is contributing to the series’ composition and screenplay.
