New Sentai Filmworks Anime Acquisition Takes Viewers to the Vatican

Based on the light novels of the same name by Rin Fujiki, the mystery anime Vatican Miracle Examiner will begin airing in Japan this month. It is North American anime publisher Sentai Filmworks who have acquired rights to the series, whom will be simulcasting it through Amazon’s Anime Strike on-demand anime subscription service this month. A home video release is expected to follow at a later date.

Vatican Miracle Examiner is being animated by the studio J.C. STAFF, whose previous work includes Flying Witch and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?. The series also features direction by Yoshitomo Yonetani (Food Wars!), sound direction by Yoshikazu Iwanami (Girls und Panzer) and series composition by Seishi Minakami (No.6).

About Vatican Miracle Examiner

In the heart of Vatican City, there is a secret organization dedicated to investigating reports of miracles. Robert Nicholas, an archivist and cryptanalysis expert, and Josef Kou Hiraga, a genius scientist, are members of the Assembly of Saints. As miracle investigators, they travel the world validating particular phenomena, only to uncover events tainted with conspiracy and deceit. With orders to find out the truth behind God’s works, Josef and the fiercely protective Robert venture out into the unknown.
