Back in 2012, Australian anime publisher Madman Entertainment asked the Australian and New Zealand anime community to vote for their Top 20 anime out of their releases. This voting event saw Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist and Dragon Ball Z take the top three places, with all Top 20 shows being available for purchase at a discount for a limited time following the event. Almost five years have passed since Madman got anime fans thinking about what their favourite anime releases were, and they have once again decided to pose the question.

With a brand new dedicated website opened for the event, invite anime fans to vote from a list of their releases, from classics such as Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon – to newer titles such as Danganronpa and Log Horizon. The list appears to be limited to only home video releases rather than what’s available via AnimeLab, and even then is not an exhaustive list. Therefore it may be better to deem this a survey of which popular Madman home video released series are your favourite. Either way, it does seem to cover many of Madman’s more mainstream TV anime series and animated feature films. If your favourite show is not in the mix, you can do a Wildcard Submission which is open to all shows.

For those who wouldn’t want to vote without there being some incentive… there is some. The best arguments will receive spot prizes, while one participant will receive all Madman titles that ended up in the Top 20 list. It is unknown whether the Top 20 shows will receive a temporary discount via Madman Entertainment’s Online Store. However, Madman Entertainment’s own top picks are currently on sale for up to 40% off.
