Entering its inaugural year, there are only a few months remaining until the Madman Anime Festival kicks off for its 2016 festivities at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. As the first anime convention in Australia to be directly hosted by an anime publisher, it is clear that Madman Entertainment are going all-out with regards to local, North American and Japanese guests.
Following a number of guest announcements over the past few months, Madman Entertainment have recently announced a sizable batch of guests who will be in attendance. These will join the likes of Shingo Natsume (One Punch Man – Director), Yuko Miyamura (Asuka Langley – Evangelion) and Tiffany Grant (Asuka Langley – Evangelion) at the convention – who will be hosting panels, offering autographs and presumably more.
In terms of voice actor guests, Madman have confirmed that Makoto Furukawa (Japanese VA for Saitama in One Punch Man), Cristina Vee (English VA for Rei Hino in Sailor Moon) and Sora Tokui (Japanese VA for Nico Yazawa in Love Live! School Idol Project).
But voice actors won’t be the only guests in attendance. In terms of creative team members, Madman Entertainment have invited Tomohiko Ito (Director of the Sword Art Online anime), Shingo Adachi (Character designer of the Sword Art Online anime) and Atsushi Kaneko (Production staff member on Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale). In other words, expect a lot of Sword Art Online to be present at Madman Anime Festival 2016.
Finally, Madman Entertainment have announced three special cosplay guests – one from South Korea and two from Australia. From South Korea is Tomia, who you can check out at her official Facebook Page. From Australia on the other hand are Siera and AmenoKitarou (A.K. Wirru).
