One of the more interesting promoted features of Madman Entertainment’s new AnimeLab Premium service is that subscribers have access to English dubbed episodes. Up until now it wasn’t clear if this just mean’t earlier episodes received an additional dub track, or if it would also mean they could start offering select simuldubbed episodes commissioned by the likes of FUNimation Entertainment and Aniplex of America in North America. Some additional clarity has been provided.
Through a collaboration between Madman Entertainment and Siren Visual, episodes of DuRaRaRa!! X2 have been offered through AnimeLab. While this has been limited to the Japanese dub previously, it has been confirmed that simuldubs will be offered for the series. As of yesterday, Premium AnimeLab subscribers have legal and official access to the English dub for Episodes 1 to 10 – with all twelve currently streamed episodes being available in Japanese. These streams can be accessed HERE.
While they have only announced this one simuldub acquisition at this point in time, Madman Entertainment (via Facebook) have indicated they are working their hardest to get “as many awesome simuldubs as possible”.
AnimeLab is Madman Entertainment’s official and legal video-on-demand service for their titles. While a functionality reduced version of the service is available at no charge to those residing in Australia and New Zealand, a new Premium service was unveiled a few days ago, bringing with it additional perks. For $6.95 AUD per month or $69.50 AUD per year, paid members will have immediate access to simulcasts, access to the back catalogue, 1080p high definition video where applicable and access to both subtitled and dubbed anime. More information can be found HERE.
