Although Etrian Mystery Dungeon has been out in North America for a couple of months now, region locking of the Nintendo 3DS console has prohibited most JRPG fans in PAL regions from playing the game. While the wait will unfortunately continue for a few more months, Nippon Ichi Software America have confirmed plans to publish the game in PAL regions starting September 11 2015.
Etrian Mystery Dungeon will be published via both retail and digital channels (Nintendo eShop) in the regions. It is unknown of NIS America will be offering any bonus pre-order goodies via their official online store.
Etrian Mystery Dungeon is not your typical Etrian first-person dungeon-crawler. Instead, it adopts and combines elements found in both ATLUS’ Etrian Odyssey franchise and Spike Chunsoft’s Mystery Dungeon series to provide one distinct game. Players are still able to form their parties with familiar Etrian Odyssey classes, such as Landsknecht and Runemaster and customize them individually using Etrian-style skill trees. You can then take your party of four into Mystery Dungeon style labyrinths, which are always randomized with various levels and paths.
