Sentai Filmworks Wrap Up “Anime of the Season” Fan Voting – Almost One Sided Over Eleven Weeks

With nine Summer 2013 anime seasons under their belt, Sentai Filmworks decided to run weekly fan polls to determine which episode for that week was deemed the best. As I mentioned in my half-way point article “Six Weeks Into Sentai Filmworks’ “Anime of the Season” Community Votes and WATAMOTE Reigns Supreme“, it was WATAMOTE that was successful in pretty much one-sided results. With a grand total of eleven rounds and the Summer season now wrapped up… what has changed since then?

Almost absolutely nothing

During the eleven rounds WATAMOTE walked away with a success in ten rounds, although it shared its victory with Sunday Without God in Round 4. The only show successful enough to stand up to the might of WATAMOTE was Gatchaman Crowds, which sprung to prominence in Round 9 if only for a single week. The formal results are below:

What does this mean? Given its popularity I think we can safely say that WATAMOTE has a real high chance of a blu-ray and English dubbed release. This is a fate that seems to be up in the air for the other eight titles that never reached its level of success. With most of these series set to see a home video release in 2014, it will be interesting to see what sort of media and dub choices are made for them.
