For those who have missed all my previous articles on the event, Australian anime publisher Madman Entertainment confirmed earlier this year that they have converted their biennial Reel Anime event into an annual event, and rather than having the standard four titles for Reel Anime 2013 they have a grand total of five – four new titles to Australia and one that was fortunate enough to have its world premiere at the Gold Coast Film Festival last April.

The event is set to open on the 26th September 2013 in Adelaide (Palace Eastend cinema) followed by the other states on the 3rd October 2013 including Melbourne (Cinema Nova), Sydney (Dendy Newtown), Perth (Luna Leederville), Brisbane (Dendy Portside), Hobart (State Cinema), Canberra (Dendy Canberra) and the only non-capital city screening in Avoca Beach (Avoca Beach Picture Theatre).

As mentioned above there are to be a total of five anime films on offer including Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, 009 RE: Cyborg, A Letter to Momo and the double feature of The Garden of Words and Ghost in the Shell: Arise. For those who may have been wanting to catch Berserk The Golden Age Arc II: The Battle for Doldrey, this film was part of a smaller event that has since taken place and is currently not planned to be screening during Reel Anime 2013.

Those in New Zealand will not be missing out on the festivities, with screenings in Christchurch and Dunedin to begin on the 19th September 2013 and in Auckland and Wellington from the 26th September 2013.

Ticket bookings can be made through the events official website. As of this post I have only had the opportunity to watch one of the five films, The Garden of Words, during its world premiere at the Gold Coast film Festival which I have posted up a review for HERE.
