Information on Madman Entertainment’s Release of Cardcaptor Sakura

-

Information on Madman Entertainment's Release of Cardcaptor Sakura 1I am sure many fans of the CardCaptor Sakura series will be aware that Madman Entertainment, an Australian distributor of anime titles have picked up the license  to the show and will be releasing it starting from July 2012 in assumingly two installments. This release is a bit different from others prior to it in that it will be an uncut release, ditching the English dub entirely and going with the Japanese Dub with English subtitles. The first collection will contain the first 35 episodes split over 5 discs for a total run-time of 875 minutes.

The classic anime finally released uncut!
Curiosity is part of any 10-year old’s life, but Sakura just broke the seal on a magical book and released all of the mischievous spirits imprisoned on the cards inside! Kero, the “Guardian of the Clow Cards” is horrified to find all of the cards gone and tells Sakura she must become the “Cardcaptor” and retrieve the spirits before they work their mischief in the world.

Unfortunately I am not aware of the price, however expect it to be unveiled along with the opening of pre-orders from the 1st May 2012. This will be one of the few currently available releases of the series outside of Japan, and from memory – one of the only uncut releases featuring the series without cuts made during the English dubbing process. The series boasts a story and character designs from CLAMP (Tsubasa Chronicles, xxHOLIC and Chobits) with animation by the studio Madhouse.

Definitely one of the most anticipated releases of July 2012 given previous demand and requests and who knows…. might even lead to the company “Finally” picking up the licenses for other much loved anime series such as say…. Sailor Moon.
