Yes I know I have already seen the film, reviewed it and covered it extensively, but that was for the UK version of the anime which just so happened to make its way to Australia thanks to Madman Entertainment. In North America however, the film isn’t due to hit cinemas until the 17th February 2012 and the big difference…. Disney is providing a completely different English dub to everywhere else with Bridgit Mendler voicing Arrietty and David Henrie voicing Sho (Localized to Shawn).
This new trailer for the NA release covers some general scenes from the film in order to showcase the two main characters, with special focus on the two main voice cast members. What has me really worried about this version is that they have original music in their trailers… indicating they might be considering replacing some of the Japanese tracks in the film with English ones… but we shall soon see upon its release. PERSONALLY, while I get the impression both English dubs have come under strict critique by the anime fanbase, I prefer the UK English dub over the US one… but each to their own.
