Time for the second installment of my review and this time, I am reviewing the ending themes of animes. Ending themes are not usually to my preference usually as I find the Openings much more interesting to watch but I did find a few that did interest me. After doing this, the reviews I did were pretty bad for this topic but it should get better in the next one.
ごめんなさい!
10. Kagayaku Kimi e
Series: Mahou Sensei Negima
Singers: Asuna, Konoka, Setsuna, Nodoka
Review: It was a bit of a toss between #10 and #9 as they are so similar however this song ended up being a little bit less likable to me than the other one. Basically filled with still images which is my number one problem with most endings but it was a fairly good song.
ごめんなさい!
9. Oshiete hoshii zo, Shishou
Series: Mahou Sensei Negima
Singers: Kazumi, Yue, Evangeline, KuFei, Chachamaru
Review: Same comments as previously. However, this is a bit more upbeat which gained it 9th place.
8. Utsusemi no Kage
Series: Rozen Maiden Ouverture
Singers: Kukui
Review: It took me awhile to warm up to this song but once I listened to it a few times, I managed to appreciate how well the song matches with the animation. The animation is very gothic type, same as all the opening themes and it was a change to not see ALI PROJECT do a song like that for the series.
7. Hizamazuite Ashi o Oname
Series: Monster Princess
Singers: ALI PROJECT
Review: I accidently came across this series and having watched some previews of it, it didn’t look appealing and while the series didn’t keep my interest much, this ending theme really did offer me something to keep my interest. Dunno what kept me being interested in it but it was a very dark themed ending with something similar to other ALI PROJECT songs that have appeared in other series such as .hack//Roots and Rozen Maiden.
6. Taisho.a
Series: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai
Singers: AnNina
Review: Once again, I remember my first comment I made on this song:
“Not so Bad”
I had never predicted to be any favourite of mine but yet again, it astounded me with how good it actually was. While it is a song that is easily skippable when watching, it is one of the few soft songs that I actually enjoy watching. Also, the animation of the different characters in the series minus Keiichi (Again), really focuses on what the whole series was about.
5. A-ly-ya
Series: Negima!?
Singers: Class 3-A
Review: This once again comes in many different students clusters like 1000% Sparking. This also makes some of the themes better than others. The animation is the same throughout with the different characters scroll across the screen while Asuna, Konoka, Setsuna and Nodoka play different instruments to the beat of the song.
4. Aijou Education
Series: Kodomo No Jikan OVA
Singers: Little Non
Review: Alot of kawaii art and high paced music… what can I say?
3. Yumemiru Otome
Series: Doujin Work
Singers: Mizuhashi Mai
Review: I have no idea why I like this song so much… it could be that it was a very common song in my ipod when I used the shuffle tool. Anyway, this song keeps the spirit of the anime alive with using alot of cheerful colours and music as well as many appearances by the series mascot bloomers. Can’t say much more about this.
ごめんなさい
2. Why or why not?
Series: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Singers: Eiko Shimamiya
Review: This song sounded really boring to me at first but it did really warm up to me after a short while. The whole song is in english which is a great break from trying to translate every phrase that is said. Also, none of the animation has anything to do with the series and it is just various scenes of nature. Also, I find the end piece that is used in the previews to be a great little section that suits the episode previews, even if the preview doesn’t really have anything to do with the series either.
1. Hanamaru Sensation
Series: Kodomo no Jikan
Singers: Little Non
Review: This is the most perfect pick of song for the series genre in my opinion. The song is high paced and upbeat and the animation is also what people would expect from a series of this genre. I was surprised how tame both themes were compared to the actual series which as people who have looked the series up before would know, is full of censorship.
