As I announced yesterday, Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru on the Playstation 3 would be released on the 15th of December in Japan – whilst leaving fans in other countries disappointed that we still have not seen any announcement for an English release for the first game. However, this is the first trailer for the game, which whilst not having anything in terms of a new opening theme or CG artwork, does feature on some of the new characters from the first two arcs in Chiru (Arcs 5-6). These characters are (With descriptions taken from the Witch Hunt release of Arcs 5/6):
Erika Furudo
Bernkastel’s double and servant. Also a piece who has manifested in the human world. Because she is a human, she cannot use magic and the like, however because of this she can appeal to Bernkastel on a higher-level plane to obtain miracles from this higher plan and various authorities that she can use. It would probably be no exaggeration to call her a human capable of wielding the power of a witch.
Dlanor A. Knox
A member of the Eiserne Jungfrau, the 7th District Repentance Enforcement Agency of the Great Court of Heaven. The Head Inquisitor of Hersey and a first-class archbishop. She is commonly known as Dlanor of the Ten Wedges or Death Sentence Dlanor.
Zepar (The Twin in Blue)
One of the 72 Great Demons. Controls love and testers others through trials. Zepar bestows an ultimate defensive barrier of immortality upon the contractor. This gives the contractor enough courage to unflinchingly face any wounds love might cause.
Furfur
One of the 72 Great Demons. Controls love and tests others through trials. Furfur bestows endless, inexhaustible offensive power upon the contractor. This gives the contractor enough courage to fearlessly overcome any barriers to their love.
Both Furfur and Zepar generally narrate events and hold “contests” to set game pieces against one another.
