The next Elder Scrolls game finally has a name. Bethesda Game Studios has revealed that The Elder Scrolls VI is titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, with the announcement made as the studio celebrates its 40th anniversary. Sadly, for those who have been waiting the greater part of a decade for news on the upcoming open world action RPG, that is all that was announced.
To mark the occasion, The Elder Scrolls Online is running a free, limited-time Golden Pursuit campaign called Alik’r Awaits. Both new and existing players can earn rewards by exploring the game’s Second Era version of the Alik’r Desert until 10 November 2026.
Todd Howard also shared a message with players reflecting on the studio’s history, from its beginnings as a small team in Maryland, USA, to becoming one of the most recognised names in gaming. Alongside it, Bethesda Game Studios has launched a 40th anniversary web page featuring developer stories, memories and photos from the past four decades.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011) remains Bethesda Game Studios’ most played game, and likely its most re-released modern title, getting ported across to pretty much every platform over the past few generations. The studio later brought Fallout online for the first time with Fallout 76 (2018) and moved into space with Starfield (2023), and is now looking ahead to The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel.
