HoYoverse’s first cosy life sim is now launching with a date. Petit Planet is launching worldwide on 4th December 2026 for PC, iOS and Android (with cross-platform play between all three). A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also in the pipeline for 2027.
The date was revealed as part of the Petit Planet Pre-Launch Special Program which also looked in some detail at the Neighbours, the core gameplay systems and the events planned to mark the launch.
In Petit Planet you are the Planet Tenders, travelling to the Starsea on the back of Oumuamua (a Starsea Spirit who is said to listen to the wishes in the heart of people). On your own planet you plant a Luca Seed which then slowly grows into a Luca Arbor and over time that shapes the landscape, the seasons and the whole ecosystem of the planet.
Players won’t be on their own at all. Planet Coordinator Mobai and Starsea Racer Elsasani are the very first Neighbours to welcome each Planet Tender, with more Neighbours joining in over time, each with their own tales. You can go on to get to know them and turn a chance meeting into a real friendship. Off-world you can of course sail around the Starsea to explore the various Islets scattered across it or head to the Galactic Bazaar to play games, take part in auctions and share your own creations.
HoYoverse have a number of events going on around launch. There’s a pre-registration lucky draw on the official site and those who pre-register as a team of three via the “Besties, Made to Match!” event will each get an exclusive piece of clothing. The “Launch a Planet” event (which kicked off on 1st November) is live on the official event website where you can design your own planet and enter to win some great prizes. You can also head over to Petit Planet’s official X account to get a “Moving Guide” and enter to win a suitcase, gift cards and an exclusive luggage tag.
