There is more to find in Brightstone. Dionous Games and X Interactive have released the Last Dream Update for Inner Voice, a first-person psychological horror adventure, adding new puzzles and scares. The update is free and available now on PC. The update brings two new puzzles that expand on exploration and puzzle-solving, more than 10 new scares spread throughout the game, and a range of quality-of-life improvements and gameplay refinements.
Nick Chronopoulos, the game’s solo developer, said the update is the result of ongoing work to make the game more immersive and unsettling.
The darkness of Brightstone has grown. I’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make Inner Voice an even more immersive and unsettling experience and this update is the result of that work.
Inner Voice follows Booker, a man searching for his missing wife, Diana. His search takes him to Brightstone, where he is guided, and haunted, by a mysterious voice. Booker has no weapons and no allies as he explores a place where the past refuses to stay buried and every answer comes at a cost.
Instead of combat, the game focuses on dread, grief and memory, with story-driven puzzles built into the environment and narrative. Its haunted world blends Victorian and Western influences, mixing reality with fiction across decaying spaces that shift around the player, filled with lifeless mannequins and fragments of the past.
