The third season of 07th Expansion’s visual novel Rose Guns Days is now available to pre-order. MangaGamer has opened pre-orders on its own store and on Steam, with a 10% discount for anyone who pre-orders.
Season 3 moves the story to 1949, by which point the Sino-American occupation has left the Japanese people a minority in Tokyo. When Alan returns from Siberia, he and his partner Keith refuse to let that reality get them down as they look for a new reason to fight. As the two find people to love and allies they can trust, Primavera and the Japanese people around them begin to find new hope for the future.
Rose Guns Days is set after an alternate history version of World War II, in which an unprecedented natural disaster forces Japan into an unconditional surrender to the Sino-American allies. The country is divided and occupied by the two powers, and within a few years both Japan and its people are radically changed, leaving the Japanese as strangers in their own home. Despite this, they band together and do whatever it takes to survive. The story is framed in 21st century Japan, where aspiring reporter Julie Hayashibara gets the chance to interview the mysterious and powerful Jeanne Amakawa to learn what post-war Japan was really like.
The game can be played in English, Chinese or the original Japanese, with the language switchable in the settings menu. It also includes a combat mini-game in which players defend against attacks and strike back, aiming for a high score, although fight scenes can be set to auto-mode for those who would rather skip them. The soundtrack features contributions from When They Cry regulars including Luck Ganriki, dai and M.Zakky.
