Kusan: City of Wolves is becoming a little more forgiving for those who want it to be. PQube and CIRCLEfromDOT have released a new update for the hardcore top-down shooter on PC via Steam, adding a new difficulty option, a way to jump into specific parts of each stage and a long list of other changes shaped by community feedback.
The biggest change is the arrival of Standard Mode, which gives players a more approachable way to take on the game’s fast-paced combat. Enemies attack more slowly, ammunition drops are more frequent and encounters have been rebalanced. Hard Mode is still there for those who want the original challenge, keeping faster enemy attacks, tougher encounters and limited ammunition, and it is the mode to play for anyone chasing the SS rank.
Floor Select is the other major addition. Players can now return to previously unlocked starting points within a stage, making it possible to practise particular encounters, push for better grades or replay favourite sections without running through the whole stage again. The Continue feature has also been improved so players can get straight back into the action without retracing their steps.
Beyond those headline features, the update includes more impactful environmental destruction, improved tutorials, visual and interface updates, combat improvements, quality-of-life changes and balancing adjustments. All of these changes also apply to the Kusan: City of Wolves demo, which is available now on Steam. The demo covers the game’s opening levels, and save data carries over to the full game, so players can continue Jin’s journey from where they stopped.
