HoYoverse has detailed the next major update for Honkai: Star Rail, with Version 4.5, “To Roll the Stars in Astropolis,” set to launch on 26 August 2026.
The update will take the Trailblazer to Astropolis, a major Interastral Peace Corporation stronghold, as the crew searches for assistance following a new crisis in Planarcadia. Alongside the continuation of the main story, Version 4.5 will introduce new versions of Robin and Aventurine, additional events, updates to the Divergent Universe and a new option for speeding up story dialogue.
Following the Express Crew’s victory over Lord Ravager Asat Pramad, the Voracity emerges and places Planarcadia in danger once again. The Trailblazer will travel to Astropolis in search of the power needed to help Planarcadia, while navigating the upper levels of the IPC’s management structure. Astropolis is presented as one of the key centres of the IPC’s business empire, while also serving as a holiday destination for envoys, business figures and officials from throughout the Pan-Cosmic Trade System. The Trailblaze Continuance will also see the Trailblazer spend time in Astropolis alongside Robin and Aventurine, with the story taking place either shortly or considerably after the events in Planarcadia.
Version 4.5 will introduce Robin • Summeretto, a new 5-star Wind character following the Path of Remembrance. Since Sunday’s departure from Penacony, Robin has taken control of the Oak Family and travels to Astropolis while secretly investigating Gopher Wood’s “legacy.” In battle, Robin • Summeretto performs alongside a small bird band and provides buffs to her allies. Teammate actions build her Vibes, with her Skill capable of placing the team into Fever Pitch once enough Vibes have accumulated. During Fever Pitch, allies receive buffs when attacking enemies, with Robin’s support becoming stronger as teammates act more frequently. Her Ultimate allows a selected teammate to immediately take action and regenerate Energy while also increasing Robin’s Vibes. The character’s introduction will also include a new Robin song titled “Only by Chasing the Wind.”
The second half of Version 4.5 will introduce Aventurine • Waveflair, a 5-star Quantum character following the Path of Elation. Although Aventurine is visiting Astropolis on holiday, he continues investigating his suspicions surrounding a traitor among the Ten Stonehearts. Aventurine • Waveflair incorporates beach volleyball and surfing into his combat animations. Using abilities and having teammates take actions builds Punchline and Fervor. Reaching a sufficient amount of Fervor triggers an additional Elation Skill that attacks every enemy before dealing multiple instances of random single-target damage. His Elation Skill will receive a further enhancement during the next Aha Instant, with its damage increasing as the team performs more actions.
Following the launch of Version 4.5, Robin • Summeretto and the limited 5-star Light Cone “Rise and Sing” will receive boosted drop rates. Hyacine will also return through a rerun, while the 4-star Light Cone “A Little Getaway” will be added to the first half of the update’s Event Warps. From 12 September 2026, Aventurine • Waveflair and the limited 5-star Light Cone “Summer Rides the Surf” will receive boosted drop rates. Ashveil will also receive a rerun during the second half of the version.
Several events are planned for the update, including the racing-focused “Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix,” which places the Trailblazer in the role of a team principal. “Minuscule Great Adventure” will offer a series of lighter stage challenges, while the Divergent Universe will receive a gameplay update. The “Planar Fissure” and “Realm of the Strange” double-drop events will also return. Players will additionally be able to obtain a new piece of Trailblaze Fashion in the form of the electronic emoti standee headwear “Aw, Look Up Here.” Version 4.5 will also introduce an option to speed up story dialogue. The setting can be switched on or off at any point during story conversations.
Outside the update itself, HoYoverse has announced a Honkai: Star Rail collaboration with MOONDROP. Sparxie-themed products and a range of online and offline events are planned for multiple regions, with further details to be announced.
A separate collaboration with Zenless Zone Zero is also planned for later in 2026. HoYoverse says characters from Zenless Zone Zero will join the Trailblaze as part of the crossover, with additional information to come.
