In a fairly surprising announcement during D23, it was announced that a new Kingdom Hearts anime project is in the works, set to be released via Disney Channel and Disney+ in the near future. More details are to come as they are made available.
This will be the first major anime project for Square Enix’s video game franchise, which has spanned a sheer variety of forms of media.
