Blizzard has detailed that the fourth season of Overwatch: Reign of Talon, Heroes of Busan, will be launching tomorrow (16 August 2026), and introduces a new Tank hero D.Mon alongside a revamped Battle Pass, map changes and additional combat features.
Busan takes centre stage during the new season as the city faces attacks from the Junkers and an infiltration of the MEKA base by Talon. D.Mon joins the roster at launch, bringing a sword, shield and MEKA suit to the Tank role as she leads the resistance defending the city.
Season 4 will also introduce what Blizzard describes as the largest update to the Overwatch Battle Pass so far. After completing an introductory track, players will be able to choose which Legendary skin they want to work towards first rather than progressing through a completely fixed reward order. A redesigned interface will accompany the change, with the new system intended to give players greater control over which rewards they prioritise.
Several existing battlegrounds are also receiving updates. Busan will reflect the aftermath of the Junker assault and Talon’s attack on the MEKA base, while Paraíso will feature colourful decorations as the city prepares to celebrate despite the presence of Domina. Eichenwalde will gain additional routes and traversal options.
New combat feedback systems are also being added during the season. These include a Team Status Indicator, a new Protect statistic for Tank heroes that tracks life saving mitigation, multi kill icons, clearer recognition of healing and damage contribution information within the Activity Feed.
Two limited events have been outlined for Season 4. Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania! is a three week game show themed event running from 12 to 31 August AEST, placing the MEKA Squad at the centre of the activity and allowing players to support their preferred participants.
The World Cheer Cup Rally will follow from 2 to 14 September AEST. The event will celebrate ten years of Overwatch esports and allow players to support their home conference ahead of the Overwatch World Cup Finals at BlizzCon.
