Indie developer Rustic Panda Games and publisher Level Up Gaming have released Colossus – Eternal Blight through Steam Early Access.
Colossus – Eternal Blight follows Lucian as he attempts to save someone he loves while a spreading blight transforms the land of Eireos into a nightmare. The narrative explores brotherhood, sacrifice and the process of letting go. Rustic Panda Games cites classic JRPGs such as Chrono Trigger and the action RPG Hyper Light Drifter as inspirations. Its combat system focuses on fast-paced encounters built around parries, counters and character skills.
Three playable classes are planned, with each class offering its own potential builds and skill trees. Players will also be able to explore four distinct regions containing regional dungeons and puzzles inspired by classic Zelda games. Purification quests task players with rescuing non-player characters from their individual Blights before they are permanently lost. The game also features a hand-crafted pixel art presentation, side quests and minigames.
