Com2uS has launched a collaboration update that brings the TV anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End into its mobile RPG Summoners War: Sky Arena. As with many similar collaboration events, this update seeks to pair the game’s existing battle systems and lore, with characters, settings and narrative elements borrowed from the anime.
Five characters from the series have been added to the game, each reworked in the Summoners War art style: Frieren, Fern, Stark, Übel and Himmel. The update also adds limited-time content based on the anime. An event dungeon called “Subjugation Request” is set in locations from the series and requires players to field the collaboration characters in their party. Players can gather loot through exploration within the dungeon and use it to strengthen their party. A board game-style minigame, “Summon Dice,” has also been added, in which battles play out through the effects of dice items.
A dedicated event building named “Royal Capital” has been placed on Sky Island to bring the collaboration content together in one location. Other additions include an Arena feature in which a character named Master X appears as a rival, along with limited-time emojis for use in chat.
To mark the collaboration, Com2uS is running a series of events until 31 August. Players who complete 10 “Subjugation Request” missions will receive a default 5★ Water Himmel, supplied at 6★ and Lv. 40 with all skills maxed and Awakened, along with Rune sets. Players who collect up to 3,000 Summon Points by using summoning scrolls can randomly obtain one default 5★ collaboration character of the Water, Fire or Wind attribute. Players will also receive one additional Mystical Scroll each time they use 10 Mystical Scrolls or summon one collaboration character.
Further events are also being held, offering rewards that include Frieren Scrolls, Legendary All-Attribute Scrolls and Light & Darkness Scrolls. These are the Frieren’s Journey Event, the Grimoire Collection Check-in Event, Fern’s Special Gift Event and the Advanced Summoner EXP Mission Event.
