GungHo Online Entertainment has launched a new collaboration between its mobile puzzle RPG Puzzle & Dragons and the anime Gintama. The event is live now and runs until 12 July 2026, adding characters from the series, six collaboration-exclusive dungeons, and a range of related content and purchasable bundles.
Characters from Gintama, including Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura, can be obtained through the Gintama Egg Machine, which costs 10 Magic Stones. When players carry out five pulls at once from that machine, they also receive five pulls from the Gintama [2020] Bonus Egg Machine.
Several of the dungeons are tied to the Gintama Quest, in which completing missions raises a player’s Quest Level to unlock rewards. Each Quest Level earns one Magic Stone, up to a total of 10 Magic Stones across all 10 levels, and P&D Pass holders can unlock additional Quest Level Rewards. Fielding Gintama collaboration characters in certain dungeons and on certain floors grants increased Rank EXP and Coins, and + values can rise further after a +Limit Breakthrough. The dungeons named as part of the Quest are Gintama; Tendoshu, Utsuro Descended!; Kabukicho Colosseum!; and [Gintama] Title Challenge!
These also function as Special Dungeons, which can boost collaboration characters’ parameters and provide increased Rank EXP and Coins, along with enhanced + values after a +Limit Breakthrough under certain conditions.
In the Gintama dungeon, players can collect Justaway tokens in Gold, Silver and Bronze to exchange for limited-time characters at the Monster Exchange. Clearing every floor rewards the Mini Icon, Elizabeth, and the Quest Rewards on offer include Gintoki Sakata and Shinsuke Takasugi for clearing all floors.
In Tendoshu, Utsuro Descended!, defeating the boss guarantees a Tendoshu, Utsuro drop, while clearing one floor provides two Rainbow Event Medals as a Quest Reward. This dungeon can be played in three-player multiplayer.
Kabukicho Colosseum! sets the drop rate to 100% when a Gintama collaboration character is used as Leader, and clearing it can reward the Gintama Egg Machine. It is also available in three-player multiplayer, though reaching the full drop rate requires every team to set a Gintama collaboration character as Leader.
[Gintama] Title Challenge! is a solo-only dungeon with a fixed team and a time limit. A first-time clear awards the [Gintama] title, and players also receive the Rainbow Justaway as a Quest Reward.
A number of other features run for the duration of the collaboration. A collaboration-exclusive Mini Icon of Gintoki Sakata can be purchased with Magic Stones. Dog Deity, Sadaharu, is available in the MP Shop, and obtaining it for the first time upgrades the Collab Enhancement [Gintama] badge to Collab Enhancement+ [Gintama]. Selected collaboration characters, such as Odd Jobs Gin-chan’s Sign and Sadaharu, are available at the Monster Exchange. Daily login bonuses also provide pulls from the Gintama Egg Machine and the Gintama [2020] Egg Machine, with players who log in across 10 days of the event receiving five pulls from each.
