A new trailer for Persona 4 Revival has been released, with the footage confirming a release date of 18 February 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The title is a full remake of the original RPG, returning players to the town of Inaba amidst the spate of a series of murders that only you and your friends can hope to stop.
For those unfamiliar with the premise, the story centres on a string of murders in Inaba and a rumoured broadcast called the “Midnight Channel” said to appear only on rainy nights. Those who appear on it are said to be the viewer’s true love, but within days, you discover that those who appear on the Midnight Channel, will die. The player and a group of friends form an investigation team to look into the killings and the channel itself, encountering “Shadows” and awakening the power known as “Persona” along the way.
The remake is set to use Persona 4 Golden as a baseline, as evidenced by the appearance of Marie, but also feature a wealth of new improvements from the enhanced PlayStation Vita release including enhanced visuals, reworked gameplay, modern aesthetics, and a range of quality-of-life updates, all intended to update the original for current platforms while keeping its core experience intact.
More details are set to be shared in the lead-up to the game’s release next year. This includes an official broadcast set to take place on 18 June 2026 at 4pm PT – with ATLUS West teasing “a deep dive into story, characters, battle system, and more”.
