Ubisoft has shared a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced during the Summer Game Fest opening conference, offering another look at the upcoming release ahead of its launch on 9 July 2026. The trailer is centered on Edward Kenway, with the protagonist’s voice used to frame the harsh realities and high stakes of pirate life. It seeks to present the adventure at sea through themes of freedom, camaraderie and danger, while revisiting one of the most recognisable songs associated with the original game.
For the trailer, musician, songwriter and producer Woodkid has reworked “Leave Her Johnny”, a sea shanty featured in the original Assassin’s Creed Black Flag soundtrack. His version is described as a darker and more mysterious interpretation of the track, while still retaining its connection to the original piece.
Yoann Lemoine, also known as Woodkid, spoke about his connection to Assassin’s Creed and the themes explored in Black Flag:
The world of Assassin’s Creed has been very important to me and is very linked to my career. I know Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is a major episode for the audience. It’s a game about escapism, rebellion, and exploration. These are themes that are very important for my work. I’m very excited about what we’ve done.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will be available on 9 July for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
