Outlining their future planned game releases during Summer Game Fest 2026, Bandai Namco Entertainment unveiled Gundam Rogue Orbit, a new mobility action game in the Gundam franchise, being developed by Bandai Namco Studios. The game is planned for a release sometime in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
The announcement trailer offered an early look at the game’s science fiction story and fast paced combat. In this new chapter, humanity faces an unknown threat, with players taking on the role of ace pilot RE-X. RE-X pilots the Gundam Helix, a high mobility suit used in the fight for humanity’s survival. He is joined by a ragtag crew of unsung soldiers, with the story positioning them as one of humanity’s final lines of defense against the enemy.
GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT will feature battles across large environments, with players facing enemy hordes, large scale bosses and other major challenges. Bandai Namco has described the project as both a new direction for the Gundam franchise and an entry point for players less familiar with the long running series. More details are set to be shared in the coming months.
