Publisher tinyBuild, alongside developers Eerie Guest Studios and series creator Nikita Kolesnikov, has released the Pre-Alpha version of Hello Neighbor 3 on Steam. This initial build is designed to provide players with an early look at the core narrative and gameplay mechanics intended for the final release.
This installment introduces a new protagonist who arrives in the familiar town of Raven Brooks on a corporate assignment. The mission involves locating a missing employee who holds the key to a significant report, though the task is complicated by the local population’s inherent distrust of the corporation. As the story unfolds, players will find that disappearances are a common occurrence within the town. All elements presented in this build are considered part of the official series canon.
Designed to be accessible to both long-time fans and newcomers, Hello Neighbor 3 does not require previous knowledge of the franchise to play. The Pre-Alpha showcases an expanded version of the Raven Brooks map, complete with new items, visual enhancements, and the first appearance of the Neighbor. Stealth mechanics have also been adjusted, with character behaviors receiving an overhaul to ensure they are more predictable and deliberate for players.
The shift in the gameplay structure comes in the form of a loop-based progression system. This replaces traditional speedrunning pressures with a mechanic where a restart allows the player to carry over their objectives and any knowledge they have collected. A new objective system has also been implemented to provide narrative guidance while maintaining the open exploration associated with the series.
