While it might be seen as logical to remaster and release Tales of Xillia 2 (following the recent re-release of Tales of Xillia) before deep-diving into the games which haven’t been 100% locked to a specific last-generation platform – Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially confirmed that the third installment in their Tales of Remastered Project is Tales of Berseria. The game has currently quite late in development and will be available from 27 February 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
This remaster brings Velvet Crowe’s intense journey of vengeance back into the spotlight. The original game introduced players to Velvet, a woman whose world is torn apart by betrayal and the murder of her brother. In this updated version, players will once again traverse a world that aims to mix raw emotion with the logical pursuit of vengeance. Velvet and her band of comrades will fight their way through heart-wrenching conflicts, exploring a narrative full of emotional depth, power struggles, and the complexities of seeking justice.
As with many remasters, this edition includes several quality-of-life updates, making it easier for new players to dive in. These updates include destination icons, encounter toggling, and early access to the grade shop (although I would argue this is a hinderance). Fans of the original will also appreciate the inclusion of downloadable content from the original game, including character costumes, bonus items, and other extras.
