Set to offer yet another isekai anime to their subscribers, HIDIVE has confirmed they’ve added the TV anime HELL MODE: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World with Garbage Balancing (ヘルモード ～やり込み好きのゲーマーは廃設定の異世界で無双する～) to its Winter 2026 schedule as an exclusive simulcast. The series is set to premiere in January and will stream for subscribers in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
Based on Hamuo’s light novels, HELL MODE follows 35 year old MMORPG devotee Kenichi Yamada, who opts into a punishing game difficulty and is reborn in its world as Allen. With only his memories and ingenuity, Allen explores the Summoner class, pushes through high risk challenges, and works to free his new family.
The light novel debuted in November 2019, and since then has spanned 12 volumes to date and received a manga adaptation that began in October 2020. English digital editions of both the light novel and manga are available from J Novel Club, while the light novel’s English print edition is published by Yen Press. The anime adaptation is set to feature Makoto Tamagawa as director, Daishiro Tanimura handling series composition, character designs by Kei Tsushima, and animation production by Yokohama Animation Lab.
Ahead of launch, HIDIVE will host the North American premiere of Episode 1 at Anime Frontier 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas.
