Reflecting the landscape of Microsoft being much more open to publish their Xbox games onto the PlayStation 5, Asobo Studio and Xbox Game Studios used Sony’s State of Play to confirm that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is coming to PlayStation 5, with pre-orders available now. Players who pre-order the Deluxe, Premium Deluxe or Aviator Editions receive Early Access starting 3 December, while general availability is set for 8 December. Additionally, support for the PlayStation VR2 is in the works, to be available in 2026.
This marks the series’ first appearance on PlayStation hardware, bringing an expanded package that lists up to 125 aircraft, 40,000 airports and runways, over 2,000 glider airports, and upwards of 80,000 helipads.
A new career system introduces structured paths across specialties such as aerial firefighting, search and rescue, construction, and agriculture, alongside optional experiences including landing challenges, rally and low-altitude events, a World Photographer mode, and a Challenge League. The release also highlights supersonic flight with Boom Supersonic’s XB-1 demonstrator.
PS5 users can expect DualSense features such as adaptive triggers tuned to speed, surface types and slope resistance, plus controller-speaker ATC audio. Asobo is inviting registrations for a closed beta ahead of Early Access and launch, with the official instructions around signing up included below:

- Complete the rest of the survey and select Join The Insider Program.

- Sign-in and navigate to https://www.flightsimulator.com/profile/
- Under Insider Survey, select “Update Survey Responses”
